Happy New Years!

(this year, everything is possible)

Here is a track from some things I was testing the other day, maybe it will sound good after some champagne:

I have two shows coming up in Leeds this month, and they are both in the same place, my favorite venue there too.  They both have a lot of music projects I am very excited to see live!  I will not play the same things either.

7.30pm, £5/4

A Cops and Robbers benefit with…

Leeds’ lasses and lad bring up some good-times experimental punk in a Beefheart/Minutemen vein. Their catchy song chunks skewered on esoteric time signatures, bass fuzz blowouts and whacked-out song structures.

Core of the Coalman
From the US via Prague and now Huddersfield, Jorge Boehringer‘s solo project spans the poles of electro-acoustic composition and psychedelic noise. Expect searing viola drones, rhythmic loopings and maybe some ring-modulated insect sounds if you’re lucky.

No Form
West Yorks young ‘uns blasting out weird punk/noisy hardcore with extra echo and occasional trumpet.

Totem Recall
Slo mo keyboard and electronics levitating down from Newcastle. Featuring members of Lobster Priest.

The Wub
Country twang put through the sludge-punk mangler, featuring members of No Guts, Broken Arm and Cleckhuddersfax.

Bands followed by records till the wee hours.

Proceeds go towards keeping C&R in print and online, so if you use the publication/website then please come down and show your support.

Wharf Chambers is a members’ club and you need to be a member, or guest of a member, in order to attend. To join, please visit

Membership costs £1 and requires a minimum of 48 hours to take effect.
