Baconjam presents our first concert at Coffee Evolution, Huddersfield! Experimental music from local duo Kneeling Coats and the lovely Laura Luna, travelling all the way from Mexico!

A photographer turned video and film artist, Laura Luna began to experiment with music in 2013. Perceiving sound as a powerful art form for enhancing memories and narratives, she recorded sounds around her that triggered emotions and memory fragments, building them into a rich tonal music. Using field recordings, voice, a modded Atari computer, a Gameboy and various synths, she constructs sounds to describe fantastical scenes and narratives, creating soundtracks for sublimely fogged-in worlds inspired by the sort of science fiction that deals in the eerily heart-rending. In 2014, she released the experimental album Isolarios inspired by stories about lost cosmonauts, expeditions without return, magical realism, and the works of Italo Calvino.

With a passion for machines, generative narratives, and the complexities of memory, Luna has developed audiovisual performances, installations, and interactive works where different materials and technologies coexist.

then, its Jon Collin:

Ladies, Gentlemen, Nick Mitchell-Maiato has moved to Huddersfield.

and as one might expect he has begun to organize exciting musical happenings from the first moment of his arrival INCLUDING some recent concerts in his living room.  This Thursday the 15th of March at 7:30 pm will be EXACTLY that sort of situation.  Except in the future, rather than recently.  Address for stalkers: 224 Halifax Road, Huddersfield, HD2 2SN.

starts at 7:30, then over by 10.

here is what he says about it (which include known errors)

Jon Collin is a prolific UK guitarist now based in Stockholm, Sweden. Jorge Boehringer aka Core Of The Coalman is a prolific New York electro-acoustic musician and sound sculptor now based in Huddersfield.

They are both magical sound craftsmen. Come see them perform at this intimate house show in Birkby, which will either take place in the dining room or up on the BBQ deck out back, dependent on the weather.

BYOB and a £5 donation for the musicians. Please be respectful to the neighbours, but please… have a wondrous evening. We’re sure you will.
